RWCC Volunteer of the year Award

Sue Neuwien was selected as the 2017 Sue Cobb Republican Women of Coffee County (RWCC) Volunteer of the Year at the December 14 RWCC luncheon.   Neuwien, a former RWCC President, has been an active RWCC member since 2004.  This year, she created the “Meet Your Republican Candidates Reception,” where local and state candidates, plus representatives of the Presidential candidates, met with over 250 Coffee County voters at the Civic Center.  Sue also spearheaded the very successful Coffee County Headquarters, which served the voters by providing the best in campaign material, information, and voter registration.  As part of the Mighty Alabama Strike Force, she coordinated the arrangements for a group of  28 volunteers to travel to the Presidential candidates’ battleground of Central Florida to campaign for Donald Trump and Mike Pence.  In less than 6 days, the group knocked on over 6,000 doors.

Sue cares about her community as well.  After the election was over, she organized and managed the Annie’s Café Christmas Meal Bake Sale at the Downtown Holiday Open House.  Over $1300 was made to help offset the cost of the Christmas meal.  Matt Larsen, co-owner of Annie’s Café, anticipates feeding over 700 people this year.

Sue was the Alabama Federation of Republican Women’s Martha Foy Member of the Year for 2014-2015.  She serves as the 15-county Congressional District 2 Republican Chairman.   She is the Treasurer of the Coffee County Executive Committee; is a member of the Alabama GOP Executive Committee, and serves on its Steering Committee.    Sue is the RWCC Vice-President for campaigns.

Sue has served the Republicans of Coffee County and Alabama with distinction in 2016.   She is the epitome of what a Republican Woman is all about.
